Meet Shelly

I live in York, Pennsylvania, with my husband, Andreas, and my cat, Klaus. I am a middle school teacher, where I teach an introduction to coding class and a class on how to be safe and smart online. In my spare time, I love to golf with my husband, spend time with my niece and nephews, and take trips. I love when I can do all three at one time. I find planning trips just as fun as the trip itself, because I enjoy researching. It also gives me something to look forward to.

I want to share that excitement with others, which is why I decided to join Kate’s World Travel as a travel advisor.

I have traveled to England, Italy, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and many states in the United States. My favorite place to visit was Amalfi, Italy. My goal is to get to Greece and Hawaii in the future.

Take the trip! Life is too short and too precious! When your 76-year-old father asks you to look into airfare prices to Hawaii, you do as you’re told. I tried planning the trip by myself with the guidance of my friend. I had the Airbnb booked, but needless to say, time started to slip away, and I was overwhelmed. Then one day, my husband, says a teacher we both know is a trip advisor as well! Next step, I reached out to Shelly Savvopoulos, and she made everything happen! Let’s talk about the things she did… Found a hotel near my aunt’s house. She booked the perfect hotel, even including an ADA bathroom to make things easier. Booked a rental car and got the military discount for Dad. Booked our flights, but that’s not all! She had someone helping us at every airport due to Dad’s disability. Helped me search for excursions to do around the island. Even searching for me and locating ones close to us, handicap accessible, and budget-friendly. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to do them because with Dad’s health, it was too much. After Dad and I had the trip planned and paid for and our itinerary set, Shelly helped search for flights for my brother who wasn’t able to leave and stay the whole time with us. And when Dad and I extended our time to stay in Hawaii, she helped again. This time, I made it a little more difficult; we were hoping to stay at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa Hawaii.
