Day 1 - Vienna Embarkation and overnight (Nov. 28)Your festive Advent adventure begins in Vienna, the imperial jewel of the Danube. After boarding, take time to explore your AMADEUS ship at your leisure. Later, the onboard team invites you to a welcome cocktail in the panoramic bar before a celebratory dinner. In the evening, try your hand at the waltz during a fun onboard dance class, setting the tone for the holiday week ahead.

Day 2 - Vienna (Nov 29)Today is all about Vienna in its winter splendor. On a guided bus tour, you’ll travel along the famous Ringstrasse, passing architectural masterpieces such as the State Opera, Parliament, Burgtheater, and the impressive City Hall. After lunch, a walking tour through the city’s historic heart takes you past the Hofburg, along the Kohlmarkt and Graben, and to the iconic St. Stephen’s Cathedral, with time for a leisurely stroll through the pedestrian streets. The afternoon brings the festive magic of Rathausplatz, where brightly decorated stalls, regional treats, and the scent of mulled wine create an unforgettable Christmas atmosphere. In the evening, enjoy the option of attending the “Sound of Vienna” concert.

Day 3 - Melk (Nov. 30)This morning your floating hotel reaches the UNESCO-listed Wachau Valley. In Melk/Emmersdorf, take an excursion to the magnificent Melk Abbey or the charming town of Dürnstein. Afterwards, warm up with a cozy onboard mulled wine as the winter landscape drifts by. Spend the remainder of the day on board, enjoying scenic views as your ship makes its way upriver toward Passau.

Day 4 - Passau (Dec.1)After breakfast, arrive in the Bavarian city of Passau, where the Danube, Inn, and Ilz converge. Explore the romantic old town on a guided walking tour, taking in its historic architecture. In the afternoon, enjoy some free time to visit Passau’s charming Christmas market before your ship continues on to Regensburg.

Day 5 - Regensburg (Dec. 2)Today you reach Regensburg, a city steeped in history and festive charm. Discover its medieval streets on a morning walking tour, then in the afternoon, visit the Christmas market at the princely Thurn & Taxis Palace. Take in the enchanting aromas of roasted almonds and gingerbread before returning to your AMADEUS ship for the evening.

Day 6 - Roth/ Nuremberg (Dec. 3)After lunch, arrive in Roth and begin your guided tour of Nürnberg, exploring its most significant monuments and sights. Don’t miss the chance to wander through the romantic Christmas market and sample the world-famous Nürnberger Lebkuchen before returning to your ship, which remains overnight in the harbor.

Day 7 - Nuremberg Disembarkation (Dec.4)Enjoy one final breakfast on board before bidding farewell. Disembark and begin your journey home, carrying the warmth and festive memories of your unforgettable Advent cruise.

Day 8 - Munich (Dec. 5)Today we are going to do a full-day trip and venture through the countryside on a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle. We will tour the castle and hear the stories of Mad King Ludwig. If you recognize this castle it’s because Walt Disney created Cinderella’s Castle after Neuschwanstein Castle. Fingers crossed we will see snow capped mountains.

Day 9 - Munich (Dec. 6)Take advantage of this day to explore more of Munich or take an optional day trip to Salzburg for the day. If you would like to go to Salzburg for the day Kate will guide you by train, you’ll have a walking tour of Salzburg, and then of course free time to have lunch and explore.

Day 10 - Today you will fly home. (Dec. 7)A transfer to the airport is included in your package.

• Why the Amadeus Ship Feels Like Home •
I would say the stateroom on the Amadeus Riva feels much more spacious than most river cruise cabins. The walk-in closet was one of my favorite features because it offered plenty of storage and made the room feel more like home. My travel partner and I could move around comfortably, and the room steward always kept everything spotless, almost like magic while we were out exploring.
I would also mention how comfortable the bed was and how easy it was to adjust the room temperature to my liking. These little details made it easy to relax and wake up refreshed each day.
When it comes to the bathroom, I would definitely point out how spacious it felt compared to the tiny bathrooms on many other ships. The large shower, strong water pressure, and extra counter space made daily routines feel comfortable instead of rushed.
Overall, I would say this level of comfort and thoughtful design is exactly what I look for when choosing a river cruise ship.

After watching the webinar on this webpage, save your spot on by filling out the sign-up form on this webpage. We will then send you a profile form to fill out and a $25 per person planning fee.
Next, we will make a video going over the trip proposal. This proposal will include the costs of the trip and what it includes.
You will then review your proposal and let us know if any changes need to be made. We want to make sure you are happy before you authorize payment.
You then authorize the payment of the deposit and we will then pay the supplier. I will be there for you step by step from now until you return. All that’s left for you to do is get the countdown started! Pop the bubbly!
