Day 1 - MontrealInviting winter cityscapes await on a sojourn through the dazzling French-Canadian cities of Montreal and Quebec City. Arriving in Montreal, discover a blend of all things old and new. As travelers' arrival times will vary, we have not included any sightseeing today. Spend the day as you wish, exploring the city independently. Throughout this festive adventure, you’ll get to experience the wonderful Christmas markets in Montreal and Quebec City, which run Thursday to Sunday throughout the holiday season.

Day 2 - MontrealToday, set out on a sightseeing tour of Montreal in all its holiday splendor, featuring Jacques Cartier Square, McGill University, and the Underground City – a haven for Montrealers during the long and cold winters. Make a stop high atop Mount Royal and take in the spectacular surrounding view! Christened by Jacques Cartier in 1535, Mount Royal is the small, emblematic mountain in the city and Montreal’s namesake. Enjoy some free time for lunch in Old Montreal (maybe warming up with a cup of hot chocolate) and soak in more of the joyful holiday atmosphere. Get ready to experience the Christmas market of Montreal,* meandering through the rows of local vendors and holiday stalls. Tonight, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner. (B,D)

Day 3 - Montreal - Quebec CityLeaving Montreal this morning, travel northeast to say bonjour to Quebec City, the heart of Canada’s French heritage. Every winter, the city lights up with the magic of the holiday season. Upon arriving, enjoy free time for a bite to eat and to explore the Old Town (UNESCO), strolling along picturesque cobblestone streets and beside 17th-century buildings. After checking into your hotel later this afternoon, stroll through the Old Town some more and gather at a restaurant for dinner amid this holiday fairy-tale setting. (B,D)

Day 4 - Quebec CityJoin your local guide for a city tour, learning about Quebecois holiday traditions while viewing the city’s historic sites. Then, it’s your choice! Craft your own copper Christmas ornament in a hands-on workshop at the family-run Albert Gilles Copper Studio -OR- enjoy a guided tour of the decorated Château Frontenac, where history, architecture, and elegance come to life. Spend the evening exploring as you wish, where you can stroll among the wooden stalls in Quebec City’s German Christmas markets.* Enjoy the evening at leisure. (B)

Day 5 - Quebec CityThis morning, roll up your sleeves for a private workshop in how to create a beloved holiday cake, the Bûche de Noël . A culinary take on the ancient practice of burning a Yule log at Christmastime, the Bûche de Noël , indeed resembling a log, has a special place on the holiday table. Practice your hand at the elaborate process of rolling the delicate chocolate sponge with a rich mousse filling and decorating with a buttercream made to look like tree bark and meringue mushrooms. Today is yours to surround yourself in the holiday spirit of Quebec City. Wander through the enchanting streets of Old Quebec, adorned with lights and festive decorations. Stroll through Christmas markets, sipping hot chocolate or mulled wine and tasting other seasonal treats. Throughout the city, experience the essence of a traditional Quebecois Christmas. (B)

Day 6 - Quebec City - MontrealBegin your day with breakfast at a local sugar shack, situated in the heart of the Quebec countryside. Learn about the traditions of maple syrup-making and enjoy samples of delicious traditional foods. Before leaving, try a favorite regional treat – maple taffy on the snow! Next, enjoy a visit to the impressive Montmorency Falls and marvel at this natural wonder plunging 272 feet off the Canadian Shield (approximately 100 feet higher than Niagara Falls). Arrive back in Montreal this afternoon and enjoy some free time, perhaps to visit the holiday markets* for some more shopping. Tonight, gather to toast to your festive adventure during a farewell dinner. (B,D)

ACCOMMODATION
Room Types and Layouts:
We will forward your room request to the hotel; however, room assignments are made at each property’s discretion and cannot be guaranteed.
For most hotels, the standard double room consists of two small beds joined together with a mattress topper to create a queen or king-sized bed.
A single or solo room has only one queen or king-sized bed. If your tour includes multiple hotel stays, your preference may be honored at one property, all properties, or none.
A triple room usually consists of a standard double room with two beds. A cot or fold-up bed may be added, but it depends on the room size and local fire codes. The number of persons accommodated does not dictate the room size. Triples are first come, first-served, as they are also very limited. If you booked a triple and only a double and single room is available at a hotel, appropriate charges for the single and double accommodations will be assessed.
Amenities vary by property. For details such as hair dryers, safes, or Wi-Fi availability, please refer to the hotel name listed in your final travel documents. You are also welcome to look up the hotel online for the most current and specific information.
Check-in is typically after 3:00 p.m. Early check-in is uncommon due to high occupancy. If you arrive before your room is ready, the hotel may offer to store your luggage in a secure location, though this service may come with a fee and the hotel is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
At check-in, you may be asked to provide a credit card or passport for incidentals. Any additional charges must be paid at check-out. Please note that hotel membership programs are not applicable.

Traditional foods in the province of Quebec have their roots with the French and First Nations traditions. French Canadian dishes are readily available in local restaurants. Soupe aux pois (yellow pea soup) and soupe a l’oignon (French onion soup), tourtière (a minced meat pie), foie gras (duck or goose liver), poutine (an interesting concoction of French fries topped with cheese curds and hot gravy) and anything flavored with local maple syrup are great items to try.
Montreal is famous for its smoked meats – such as pastrami – as well as its bagels.
The food people eat is a window into their history, traditions, and values, and sharing food brings people together. One of the many wonderful aspects of travel is to experience as much of the regional cuisine as possible. Your tour includes many meals as outlined on your itinerary. Our team has carefully chosen restaurants that feature local ingredients and offer regional flavors.
For meals that are not included in your itinerary, your Tour Manager will be happy to recommend eateries and local businesses that best fit your taste and needs.
The average price for meals in this region ranges from 10 to 15 US Dollars for breakfast, 12 to 20 US Dollars for lunch and 20 to 35 US Dollars for dinner.
Customary gratuities for meals in Canada are approximately 15%. When dining in larger groups (normally 8 or more), a gratuity or service fee may be added automatically to your bill. Check your bill before paying and if in doubt, ask.

Next, we will make a video going over the trip proposal. This proposal will include the costs of the trip and what it includes.
You will then review your proposal and let us know if any changes need to be made. We want to make sure you are happy before you authorize payment.
You then authorize the payment of the deposit and we will then pay the supplier. I will be there for you step by step from now until you return. All that’s left for you to do is get the countdown started! Pop the bubbly!
